Here's a shitty Instagram shot of the Reiker as it stands now. Headset is in the post as I type.

Gonna start out with my RB-021 bullhorns. Don't have a spare quill stem for it yet so might just run a A-head converter setup and see how that goes for fit before getting the right length stem.

Kinda tempted to run track drops though...

Righto, so everything's bolted on now but I ran into a little snag...the inside of the Omnium spider fouls on the chainstay. I put a couple of spacers in there to give clearance but it's ruined the chainline too much for my liking. Has anyone else found the Omniums to be a bit too beefy when it comes to running them on super tight-clearances frames?

So I'm after some cranks. Anyone got some Suginos/Superbe Pros/Dura-Ace they're looking to part with?

wow! that shits tight!

Personally I'd run sugino75's on there, you won't have such a tight clearance with the spider arm. But also you'd probably be open to getting a wider BB

I've thought about denting the chainstay but I'm really hesitant to do so.

Yeah, I'm thinking 75s. They're the best price-quality ratio whilst still looking good.

What BB would you recommend for it? Go the the 75 or the Hatta BB? Any experience with either?

I'm not really fussed running an unsealed BB to be honest. My Miyata has been running the unsealed Campy BB it came with and it's still going strong!

Eric, cheers for the idea. Best place to source the White Industries BB from?

Here's a shot of it built up. Gotta get the headset tightened up properly...I did a shit job of doing so when I fitted it. This thing is tight, look at that rear wheel!

DONT DENT THE CHAINSTAY.

and yea. omniums foul on 90% of the frames they go on. you could always do what zombie did and grind down the back of the spider.

otherwise for that frame get new cranks.

if duncans still got em he was selling some 170mm superbe pros which would be really nice.

I had a little tinker with my campy bb's out of the Pelizzoli and Cinelli a week ago and I'm very impressed on the consistent quality.

Personally I would go Hatta R9400 BB, or if you really want to fork out some $$$ on a super decent BB; Sugino Ceramic BB (Not NJS approved, but WOW! do these babies feel like butter melting if your hands). Both Hatta and Sugino are 109mm wide which is still quite tight for you chainring clearance; campy bb is 111mm. Every mm counts, especially if you're going to start pushing bigger chainrings.

Back onto topic, if you're switching to sugnio75's and a sugino bb or hatta, you'll still have good clearance with your crank arm spider

Haven't given it a real ride yet as the headset isn't tight enough. Taken it down the road and it's sick but I need a longer stem and gearing feels too tall for me (cockpit is a bit short at present so gonna go for a 100mm stem instead of a 90mm one)

Okay, re clearance, Grant, you found no clearance issues running Octalink DA cranks, right? Do you reckon I'd be sweet with 75s with either the Hatta or Sugino 109mm BB?

Has anyone compared the DA's inside spiders to the 75s? Tim, you reckon they're much of a muchness eh? I've no concern with chainring clearance, I won't run anything bigger than a 48t.

75's are shallower
DA's 7600/7710 are both same depth as campy. The spiders arch inwards more for more aero dynamic purposes.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll go for the 75s in that case. Just gotta sell some stuff now to free up some cash!
